You may have heard people talk about ‘good vibes’, this is a similar concept.
Good vibes or positive energy are what we should all be aiming for.
Having ‘positive energy’ allows us to reach our full potential and deal with any knockdowns that come our way, no matter how hard they may be.
Think of two people in a room.
The room is quiet and in the room is a person sitting who is slouched over, arms crossed in their lap, head down, and a frown on their face.
On the other side of the room is a person who is sitting upright, smiling, maybe they have their arms open to welcome you.
Both of these people are giving off energy.
We are sure you can imagine who has the most positive energy and who has more negative energy about them.
Now, there could be a number of reasons for the energy of these people, and we are definitely not going to judge anyone.
However, we are guessing that you want to be like the person with positive energy, right?
Right now, you may not feel like you have particularly good or positive energy.
In fact, you may feel pretty bad. That is totally fine and normal.
It is not something that happens immediately, but there are some things you can do to change your energy.

You Control Your Energy
The first thing that you should remember that will make you feel so powerful is that you are in control of your own energy.
You are the only person who can change your energy.
Sure, there are other factors that can affect it, some more than others, however, nothing can change without your permission.
In order to truly change your energy, you have to want it.
If you are someone who tends to focus on the negatives in your life and does not leave room for feelings of joy, you may well struggle with changing your energy initially.
The good thing is though, that because we are in charge of our energy, we can learn.
We can teach ourselves repeatedly to see things differently and change how we react to things.
This in turn changes our outlook, which then has an effect on our energy.
It is all about learning to let yourself react with compassion, being kind to yourself, and to others.
It does not mean that you cannot be sad, or angry, or depressed.
It means that we can allow ourselves to feel these things safe in the knowledge that eventually we will be able to pick ourselves up and deal with the emotions in a healthy way with a positive outlook.
It does not mean that we must be happy smiling people day in, day out, but rather that we can apply positive energy even when the situation feels overwhelming.
You are in control of your energy.
This means only you can choose how you act, and where you apply your positive energy.
Do not waste it on things and people that do not serve you.
Do not get yourself into a pit of sadness.
Instead, allow yourself to feel all emotions as and when they come up, knowing when to apply the positive energy that you will always have.
Is Your Environment Serving You?
Related to the section above where we discussed the fact that you get to decide where you want to use your energy, your environment is also a big factor when it comes to changing your energy.
Think about the current situation you find yourself in, like your job, your schoolwork, your relationship, your friendships, your social activities, and your commitments.
Do you find that they bring you happiness? Do they contribute to your energy in any way?
Of course, we acknowledge that some things can’t be taken away.
For example, if you are stuck working a job that you do not like but you need the money, we know it is not as easy as giving up.
If you are at school and an aspect of your school life is having a negative impact on your energy, there may not be much you can do about it.
This section is not foolproof as we know that somethings just cannot be changed.
However, for the things that you can change, consider whether they serve you.
Perhaps you are in a friendship that is tiring you out emotionally and physically. It may be time to think about how that person’s negative energy is taking its toll on you.
Your environment and the people in it all have a huge impact on your energy.
Although we are in control of our energy, it can be more difficult to stay in control when the energies of other people and situations are so negative.
Think really carefully about what each person and situation you are in brings you, and do the work accordingly.
Dump toxic friends, say goodbye to hobbies that bring you to stress rather than joy, talk to a manager if an aspect of your work is zapping every ounce of good energy you have.

There are other sources of energy that will give you a helping hand to reach the level of energy that you want.
One important example is the things we use to nourish your bodies.
If we are nourishing ourselves with foods that have little nutrition and are packed full of chemicals and additives, we are not going to feel great.
Whereas eating foods that nourish our bodies and minds will help us to remain positive.
Look for foods that give you all the vitamins and minerals you need, as well as looking for foods that are proven to boost your mood.
These foods include berries, nuts, dark chocolate, oily fish, oats, bananas, and even coffee!
When we feel great on the inside, we feel great on the outside too, and our moods will be happy and positive.
You could also seek energy from things such as healing crystals if that’s your thing.
Many crystals are thought to be powerful and promoting positive energy, whilst dispelling bad vibes.
Choose crystals such as citrine, rose quartz, carnelian, and black tourmaline. You can carry them with you or place them around your home.
