limiting beliefsIf you’re like me, you have limiting beliefs at times in your life. Some days are tougher than others but no matter what we do, those limiting beliefs will always be there.

What Are Limiting Beliefs

Limiting beliefs are the thoughts in your head that tell you that you aren’t any good, you can accomplish anything, you aren’t smart enough, etc. For some people, these limiting beliefs are the only thoughts that are constantly on their minds. It’s no wonder then why so many of those same people aren’t happy with life.

How To Stop Limiting Beliefs

I have good news and bad news for you. The bad news is that you will never be able to rid yourself of limiting beliefs 100% of the time. It’s just not possible. But the good news is that you can control how long the limiting beliefs stay in your head.

The way you control limiting beliefs is to start believing in yourself and thinking positively. Think of all of the times in your life when you accomplished something that you didn’t think you could. Realize that you are capable of much more than you think and you can accomplish the extraordinary. Think about all of the times you read about average people accomplishing extraordinary things. What makes them able to do these things? They accomplish them by believing in themselves and stopping limiting beliefs.

When you think, “oh, I’ll never get out of credit card debt” or “I’ll never get that job so why both applying”, you are speaking words of defeat and therefore you can’t prosper. From now on, whenever a limiting belief enters into your head, you need to work on changing your thought pattern. Turn the dial and change your thoughts to those of positive thoughts. Tell yourself you can get out of debt. You can get that job. Begin to visualize your life being debt free or with that new job.

The key is to not let those limiting beliefs take hold of you and control your thoughts. When you first begin to change your thought process, it won’t be easy. You’ll fail many times. But it is OK to fail. You have to keep pushing ahead, pushing forward. Thomas Edison failed at the light bulb close to 1,000 times, but he ended up solving the problem.

Start Believing!

You need to start believing in yourself and all that you have. Stop limiting yourself with a bad attitude. Thoughts become things. If you always speak negative words, you are going to live a negative life and be miserable in the process. Start speaking positive words, encourage yourself and surround yourself with other positive people. When you learn to turn off the limiting beliefs, you will find a happier and healthier you emerge.

I know some might be reading this and think that this won’t work. I’m destined to be in debt. But that again is negative thinking and you are limiting yourself. All I ask is that you give positive thinking a try. What have you got to lose?

If you need help getting started with positive thinking, I’ve developed an ecourse, 30 Days To Positive Thinking that you should look into. It will give you all of the tools you need to make positive thinking a part of your life.

Final Thoughts

As I said before, you will always have negative thoughts and limiting beliefs. The key is not allowing those thoughts to take root and become who we are. When a negative thought enters my mind, I shake it off and tell myself that I am capable, I am strong, I am smart, I can do anything I put my mind to. That takes the limiting beliefs out of my mind and sets me back on a positive path in life.

So what are you waiting for? Stop allowing limiting beliefs to control your thoughts and take back your life. I believe that you are strong and able to so, it’s time for you to start believing in yourself.
